Fran Dessing, 75, of Mendota died March 3, 2010 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 6 at First United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial was at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on March 5 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Mrs. Dessing was born Nov. 18, 1934 in Erie to Willis and Dorothy (Phillips) Funderburgh. She married Robert Dessing on Oct. 1, 1955 in Cordova. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy (Robert) Guerrero of Mendota; two sons, Timothy (Nancy) Dessing of Mendota and Tom Dessing of Mendota; five grandchildren; one brother, David Funderburgh of Chadwick; and three sisters, Linda (Randy) Smit of Morrison, Ann (Jeff) Peters of Freeport and Carrie Funderburgh of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers.

Mrs. Dessing was a member of First United Methodist Church and Women of the Moose in Geneseo. She worked as a waitress at Octave Restaurant in Mendota, Mendota Elks Lodge, and Mendota Moose Lodge.
