MENDOTA - Kathy Gordon, 66, of Mendota died June 18, 2012 at University Hospital in Madison, Wis.
A private family memorial was held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 22 at the Merritt Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on June 22 at the funeral home.
Ms. Gordon was born June 24, 1945 in Mendota to Donald "Rusty" and Betty (Simpson) Rogers. She married Charlie Gordon on Sept. 6, 1974 in Mendota.
Survivors include her mother of Mendota; one daughter, Darla (John Harris) Kleckner of Mendota; one son, Tim (Belinda) Lewis of LaMoille; one brother, Dean Rogers of Mendota; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and her cat, Buttons.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1992 and one brother, Gary in 2010.
Ms. Gordon was a part owner of Bob & Jerry's Shell Gas Station and worked in the parts department of Smyser's Auto Parts and Schimmer Inc. She was also employed as a secretary at Skuttas Optometry, worked at Pohl's Office Supply and Mendota Well & Drilling. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota Moose Lodge, Mendota Elks Lodge, and the Illinois Valley Women 600 Club (bowling). She was a member of several bowling leagues, where she served as league secretary for many years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
