Vincent Duane Rutt
DIXON Vincent Duane Rutt, 84, of Dixon, died June 27, 2014 at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon.

Services will be held at 5 p.m. July 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Dixon with Rev. Heewon Kim, associate pastor, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Visitation is from 3 5 p.m. July 1 at the church.

Vincent was born Oct. 27, 1929 in Dixon to Wesley and Ruth (Erickson) Rutt. He married Janice Louise Schoeller on Dec. 31, 1964, in Rockford.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley (Melanie) Rutt of Webster, Texas and Alan (Kay) Rutt of Woodburn, Ky.; one daughter, Leslea (Rick) Bates of Metropolis; one step-son, Gary Hollewell; two brothers, Gordon (Irene) Rutt of Dixon and Truman (Elizabeth) Rutt of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one grandson, James Douglas Wesley Bates.

Vincent was a self-employed real estate broker from 1975 until the time of his death and also owned Dixon Electronics from 1950- 1983. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Vincent was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dixon, American Legion Post 12, Dixon Moose Lodge #727, Dixon Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #779, and Dixon V. F. W. Post 540.
