Church planning Thanksgiving dinner

SUBLETTE -- The East Grove Union Church of Amboy invites you to attend its free annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Ellice Dinges Center, 202 S. West St. in Sublette.

Lee County HGS to hear speaker

DIXON -- John Purvis will speak at the Nov. 14 meeting of the Lee County Historical and Genealogical Society. This will be the group's annual meeting. The meeting will be held in the second floor conference room at KSB Hospital at 7 p.m.

AMBOY -- The Amboy High School Class of 1953 held a luncheon on Oct. 14 at the Walton Tap. They were celebrating their 63rd year of graduation.
A moment of silent prayer was held for two classmates that passed recently, Dean Gray and Jack Fischer.

Lee County Homemakers to hear about Ecuador

AMBOY, The Lee County Homemakers Education Association is sponsoring an International Luncheon featuring Ecuador with a presentation on the people, culture and food by Tatjana Kazan, Lee County HEA International Director, assisted with food preparation by board members at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27.
