Portrayal of Mark Twain set for July 19 at Grist Mill

FRANKLIN GROVE – Stuart Corsa and Mary Ann Constable Guttman will present a captivating portrayal entitled “The Twains Shall Meet” about Mark Twain and his wife on the evening of Saturday, July 19 at the Grist Mill in Franklin Grove. It will follow a dinner sponsored by and benefiting the Franklin Creek Preservation Area Committee.

Corsa and Guttman will present the wit and wisdom of America’s great storyteller and humorist. Additionally they will explore the important role Mrs. Clemens played in supporting and assisting the great literary figure. Well beyond a conventional wife, Mrs. Clemens, herself a lover of literature played the role of both editor and literary advisor to Mark Twain. Enjoy the story of the difficulties Sam Clemens had winning the hand of Olivia Langdon and the ensuring romance of this nineteenth century power couple.

Tickets for the dinner should be purchased at least five days in advance.
