Amboy to host girls' hoop tourney

AMBOY, Amboy will host the Amboy Girls' Holiday Basketball Tournament for varsity and freshman-sophomore teams. The tournament schedule is as follows:
Friday, Dec. 26
Amboy vs. Kewanee (FS), 1:30 p.m.
Amboy vs. Paw Paw (V), 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 27
Amboy vs. St. Bede (FS), 1:30 p.m.

Clippers taken down by H-BR, BV

Hinckley-Big Rock built a double-digit first-quarter lead and cruised to a 50-28 victory over the Amboy Clippers on Dec. 9 at the AHS gym.
H-BR opened a 13-3 lead after the opening quarter and was never headed. The Clippers were still within striking distance at 18-9 at halftime, but the Royals stretched the margin out to 36-21 after three.

AHS girls post two more wins, improve to 9-1

In late November, the Amboy Lady Clippers struggled to an overtime win over Hall. On Dec. 8, the Lady Clippers overwhelmed the visiting Lady Devils, 49-19, at the AHS gym.
