The Amboy Junior High School wrestling team competed at Oregon on Jan. 25. Results are as follows:

85 pounds – Josh Talley lost by decision; 90 pounds – Collin Doege lost by fall, won by pin; 95 pounds – Damion Ullrich lost by fall, lost by decision; 100 pounds – Andrew Ferguson lost by decision, won by pin; 112 – Broc Sorrells lost by fall, won by pin; 119 – Jason Bontz won by decision, won by pin; 126 – Garrett Gerdes lost by fall, won by pin; 145 – Aaron Hubbell lost by decision twice; 155 – Emmitt Hicks won by pin twice; 167 – Garrett Liebing won by pin.

AJHS wrestled Marseilles and Clifton Nash on Jan. 26 at Marseilles. Results are as follows:

85 pounds – Talley lost twice; 90 pounds – Doege won two pins, won decision; 95 pounds – Ullrich lost, won by decision; 100 pounds – Ferguson won by pin, lost; 112 pounds – Sorrells lost twice; 119 – Gerdes won decision; 126 – Bontz won decision; 145 – Hubbell won forfeit, won pin; 155 – Hicks lost; 167 – Liebing won decision

The team participated in the 16-team Orion Tournament on Jan. 30. AJHS finished 12 with 80 points.

Two wrestlers earned second-place medals – Bontz at 119 and Hicks at 155.

Also competing were Ullrich, Doege, Ferguson, Hubbell, Gerdes, Sorrells and Liebing.
