Seven freshman and sophomore wrestlers from Amboy High School competed at the regional level of the AAU/Team Illinois High School Wrestling Coaches Alliance Tournament on Feb. 28 at Morrison Middle School in Morrison. This tournament is only open to high school freshman and sophomore wrestlers.

In order to advance to the sectional level, wrestlers had to place in the top four of their weight class. Placing at the regional and advancing to sectional competition this weekend at Sterling High School are Darius Decker, third place at 220 pounds; Austin Cover, fourth place at 140 pounds; and Trevor Ullrich, fourth place at 108 pounds.

Also competing but not advancing were Travis Broderick, Drew Fordham, Taylor Ikens and Nathan Schrock.
