AMBOY - Thirteen Amboy High School students were inducted as new members of the National Honor Society in a ceremony held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at AHS cafeteria. Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Students inducted were: Sierra Vaessen, Rachael Coyle, Lauren Foster, Aaron Shaw, Payton Koch, Kaitlyn Appleman, Julia Setchell, Garrett Liebing, Lindsay Hoy, Dillon Daniels, Emmitt Hicks, Paige Gascoigne, and Damon Quest.
“We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. National Honor Society members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community,” said Mrs. Hemmen, chapter adviser.
Officers for 2012-2013 school year were announced as well. President-Andrew Klein, vice president-Reilly Roberts, secretary-Natalyn Rood, and treasurer-Alex Noble.
The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. There are chapters in more than 16,000 high schools across the country.
