SUBLETTE - The Sublette Fire Department has installed an "I Am Responding System" at its station. They are the first department in Lee County to be using the system.

After the department is dispatched through 911 Dispatch, members of the department simply press one speed dial button on their cell or any programmed phone and an Internet connected computer and a 42-inch TV screen at the station instantly displays who is responding to the incident. Then by pressing a different number on the phone, it lets the department know when and where and how soon they will be responding to the call.

Right now they are currently working on another feature with the Lee County ETSB 911 Dispatch center to receive dispatches by text message. When a page goes out, it is converted into a text message. This will allow us to receive a text message outside our paging boundaries anywhere in the U.S.

Many other features include mass messaging system, scheduling, attendance tracking, expiration tracker, and calendar and event notification.

Sublette Fire Chief Doug Erbes stated, "What I like about the I Am Responding System is within about 30 seconds I know what kind of manpower I have coming to the station or scene, just by looking at my cell phone. If I were short-handed at that time, we can get mutual aid coming sooner than we used to."
