They were among 10 members who went through the selection process, which includes submitting a resume of 4-H and community activities and achievements and answering an impromptu question along with other interview questions from the judges. Each candidate was also asked to finish the statement, “The best thing about 4-H is . . .”

Judges select three girls and three boys to sit on the 4-H court. The 2012 court includes Ashley Case, Golden Aces; Morgan McCannon, Wyoming Indians; Allison Prestegaard, Grove Go-Getters; Shane McCannon, Wyoming Indians; Kye Witek, Soaring Eagles; and Aaron Wetzel, Wyoming Indians.

Currently, Dalton Schultz (Amboy) and Kimberlee Mairs (Ashton) are serving as the 2011-12 4-H king and queen. They have spent the year acting as ambassadors of the 4-H program and will crown their predecessors during the 4-H Fair at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27 at the Lee County 4-H Center & Fairgrounds near Amboy.
