WALNUT - Amboy/LaMoille cross country runners went up against their counterparts in the Three Rivers Conference Meet on Sept. 25 at Walnut.
In the girls' race, Lady Clipper Jennifer Popovich earned all-conference honors by finishing in sixth place overall with a time of 22:07. She is the first A/L girl to claim such a distinction since 2009.
Also competing for the Lady Clippers were Kaitlin Boers (13th, 23:45), Sydnie Langeler (18th, 24:43), Laura Rieker (28th, 26:00) and Meredith Stamberger (29th, 26:08).
A/L took fourth place in the team standings with 72 points. Erie-Prophetstown was the team champion.
Aaron Shaw was the first Clipper boy to cross the finish line in 19th place overall with a time of 18:31. Next for A/L was Zach Piper in 23rd place with a time of 18:55, followed by Ben Hosto (29th, 19:22), Jeff DeLong (32nd, 20;09), Nick Dewey (37th, 20:39), Nick Bickett (41st, 21:07) and Alan Stamberger (49th, 22:54).
The Clippers finished fourth in the team standings with 110 points, while Newman claimed the top team prize.
