AMBOY - The Amboy and Sublette Fire Departments were dispatched to 16 W. Wasson Road for a mobile home on fire on Dec. 16.
Upon arrival, they found flames shooting out of a back bedroom of the home. In minutes, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and kept the fire from spreading to the rest of the home and other nearby homes. Nearly 40 firefighters responded from the two departments, with Advance EMS in Dixon standing by at Amboy's Fire Station. Firefighters were on scene for just over an hour.
In response to the fire, the American Red Cross is ensuring that the family's emergency needs are being met, including shelter, food and clothing. The Red Cross assisted two adults.
