Five JV matmen capture crowns

AMBOY - The Amboy Junior Varsity wrestlers finished a solid second in their own 10-team tournament on Jan. 5 at the AHS gym.

Chicago Simeon captured first place with 204 points, followed by the Clippers with 155 points. Completing the rest of the standings were Rock Falls (154.5), Riverdale (87), Rock Island (84), Sterling (74), Putnam-Hall (57.5), Belvidere North (52), Rockford Lutheran (31) and St. Bede (16).

Amboy had five first-place finishers. They were Andrew Ferguson, Ryon Richardson, Travis Westenfelt, Jackson Sorrells and Dallas Appleman.
