Central School students take part in Spelling Bee

AMBOY - Central School conducted its annual Spelling Bee On Friday, Feb. 1. Students competing in the bee were Brianna Blaine, Logan Wood, Trevor Vaessen, Matt Dinwiddie, Brian Murphy, and Samantha Goldman. Students absent who were slated to participate include Joe Ogan and Zachary Winters.

Students competed in three rounds of words before Samantha Goldman emerged as the winner, spelling the word "superstar.” Samantha is the daughter of Kimberly Hulska of Sublette. Runner-up is Matt Dinwiddie, son of Marie and John Dinwiddie of Amboy.

The winner and runner up will be attending the Lee/Ogle Regional Spelling Bee in Dixon on Thursday, Feb. 21.
