Christopher Jones claimed second-place honors at 138. He went up against Stephen Adamecz of Newman in the championship match and the Comet wrestler pinned Jones at the 2:17 mark. Jones sports a 17-22 record.

Jackson Sorrells also finished in second place for the Clippers. He battled Roman Luevano of Rock Falls in the title match at 182 pounds and Luevano came out ahead, 4-1. Sorrells has a 21-10 record.

A pair of AHS wrestlers finished in third place to qualify for the sectional. Andrew Klein (160) posted a 6-1 triumph over Tyrell Fouckle of Putnam County, while Ryan Leffelman picked up a technical fall victory over Kyle Bowler of Princeton in their 195-pound tussle. Klein will take a 14-11 record to the sectional and Leffelman has a 22-9 slate.

Two other Clippers finished in fourth place and saw their season come to an end. Ryon Richardson was pinned by James Peacock of St. Bede at 1:23 of their 132-pound third-place match, while Jason Bontz lost a narrow 4-3 decision to Drew Pranka of Princeton at 152 pounds.

Rock Falls won the team title with 208.5 points. Sterling Newman took second place with 151 points, followed by Amboy (115.5), Polo (105), Princeton (73), St. Bede (68), Putnam County (57), Ashton-Franklin Center (49) and Mendota (39).
