AMBOY - In June of 2012, a group of volunteers came together with an idea to build a sports complex to support the girls and boys baseball and softball programs of our community. The goal is to benefit programs starting from T-Ball and continuing on, in the hopes of building stronger, more competitive high school programs. The facility will be able to be utilized year round. This forum came together after Gary Wilhelm received multiple inquiries about looking into such a facility. The existing outdoor batting cages had deteriorated over the years and were no longer functional. The anticipated cost of the entire project was estimated to be $70,000. To date, approximately $53,000 has been received in donations from many generous local sponsors. With the progress thus far on the building, about $47,000 of these funds have been depleted. Despite, the outpouring of financial support thus far, this sports facility will not be completed without additional donations. Please contact Gary or the City of Amboy if you would like to support the completion of this project.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the sponsors in addition to the Depot Days Car Show Committee, who have contributed thus far: Amboy School District, Amboy Summer Baseball, Maplehurst Farms, City of Amboy, Amboy Park Board, Amboy Lions Club, Amboy Knights of Columbus, Sensient Flavors, First National Bank of Amboy, Raynor Garage Door, Bergfeld Construction, Illinois Valley Door Company, Amboy Rage 14U, Amboy Rage 12U (2 teams), Amboy Rage 10U, KSB Hospital, Scudder Implement, Crop Production Services Amboy/Dixon, Sauk Valley Motors, Illinois Fire Store, Amboy Fire Department, Amboy Area Coop, M.N.K.
