Hickey raised his right hand and recited the oath he swore to when he entered the military. According to military.com, the oath of enlistment is something that every service member must promise and adhere to for their entire military career. Entering as an officer, one would take the military oath of office. Hickey talked about the numbers of the fallen military, and especially talked about those who were not included in the official numbers.
