LEE COUNTY — The Lee County Board approved the recommendation for a special use permit from the zoning board to allow a solar farm on property owned by Larry and Julie Gittleson in Alto and Reynolds Townships.
This could be one of the largest solar farms in the state, about 760 acres.
The board sent two petitions to the zoning board, for variances for property setbacks.
The board also approved the appointment of Lori Erbes and Tom Mead to serve on the Board of Review of Lee County and James Burke to serve on the Farmland Assessment Review Committee of Lee County.
In other business the board approved revisions and additions to the Lee County Code book regarding food and food establishments.
They also approved a resolution to allow the county to purchase overstock property from the state.
