ASHTON – The Amboy Lady Clippers dropped a 7-5 decision to Ashton-Franklin Center in varsity softball action on May 17 at Ashton.
Amboy held a 4-0 lead through four and a half innings before AFC stormed back to tie the game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The home team broke the tie with a three-spot in the bottom of the sixth and Amboy added a run in the seventh.
Madelyn McLaughlin smashed a home run for the Lady Clippers, while Gabby Jones collected a pair of singles.
Hannah Blanton was the losing pitcher.
