The Amboy-LaMoille wrestlers stepped up their mat game this season and it was recognized by the Northern Upstate Illini Conference All-Conference Team voters.
Senior Lucas Blanton (IHSA State Tournament qualifier at 175 pounds), sophomore Landon Blanton (state qualifier for the second straight year, this season at 120), and freshman Caiden Heath (sectional qualifier at 138) were named to the NUIC First Team.
LaMoille freshman Evan Flanagan (sectional qualifier at 215) was named honorable mention.
“All four of the boys deserve this,” said Amboy wrestling coach Brent Montavon. “There are 28 open spots, and the state qualifiers are automatically in. To have four out of our nine wrestlers make the list shows how much work they put in during the season.
“Congratulations to all four of them and I can’t wait to see even more on the list next season.”
